A charge to 2.40V/cell (and higher) is fine. However, the float charge should be reduced to between 2.2and 2.30V/cell (summer temperatures may require lower voltages). A battery charger that is dedicated to charging 12V flooded lead acid often have a fixed float voltage setting of 14.40V (2.40V/cell), using it could overcharge the AGM battery.

Charging Lithium-ion Deep Cycle Batteries
Lithium-ion batteries cannot absorb overcharge. When fully charged, the charge current must be cut off. A continuous trickle charge would cause plating of metallic lithium and compromise safety. Most deep cycle battery systems that we have is 12V. 1volts is simplest and most standard, used in cars, RVs, trolling motors and boats. If you want a small simple power system, 1volts will probably be easiest. But in some applications such as marine or home solar energy systems, where we often build large battery banks that store hundreds or even thousands amp-hours, the 24V or 36V or 48V system has some technical advantages over the 12V system.
Depending on which car you go for, you need to be aware of the different charging options open to you. All models will have a charging cable with a standard UK three-pin plug available, so you can simply plug the car into the mains. But this is the slowest way of charging an EV.
What to look for
The biggest issue with electric cars, and particularly used electric cars, is how well the batteries keep their charge. If you purchase a car that has trouble maintaining battery energy, then you’ll need to consider the cost of replacing the battery. This can be astronomical, especially when compared to the cost of buying a used EV, as electric cars have poor depreciation that will soon see their used price fall below the cost of battery replacement.

Other than that, you can look at a used EV in the same way as you would a conventional car. Make sure all of the electrics work – EVs are usually pretty well equipped, so check all the gadgets are functioning – while most electric cars will have been used in town, so keep an eye out for wheel damage that may extend to the suspension behind it.
Likewise, a small, portable generator with either 240v or 12v power outlets will quite happily keep your portable fridge powered for as long as your generator lasts, and can likewise double as a source for recharging your battery.
Charging Your Battery
So you’ve got your fridge, you’ve got your battery and battery pack, what’s next? The last thing you’ll need is some means of recharging your battery, and for this, you have a few options.
The standard method for recharging a battery is known as ‘Direct Charging’, or ‘Trickle Charging’. This involves connecting your battery directly to some sort of power source (such as the ones outlined below), and will deliver a constant stream of power through to your battery. However, this is also the most inefficient means of recharging your battery, and can even be potentially damaging.
For starters, delivering a constant stream of power takes an incredibly long time to charge the battery. Next, it will also never completely fill a battery to 100% charge, usually coming up at around 80%. Lastly, direct charging means the power will continue to stream into your battery, even after it’s reached its maximum level, unless you manually turn it off. Continuing to charge a full battery will damage it if left for too long.
The other option is ‘Smart Charging’. By placing a Smart Charger between your battery and the power source, the charger will use an efficient stage process to charge your battery, delivering a full charge in a far shorter amount of time than direct charging. Smart charging will also recharge your battery right up to 100%, and when it reaches that point, it will automatically shut off, so there’s no chance of causing damage from overcharging. Most Battery Packs/Boxes come with a Smart Charging system built in as standard, or you can purchase one as a separate unit.
It’s important to note that you do not actually have to disconnect your battery from your portable fridge while recharging, meaning your fridge will stay powered right throughout the charging process.

They’re light, easy to transport, and can easily recharge your battery in a matter of hours.
